Help Jade Recover Vet Costs for her Cat
Donation protected
About two weeks ago I learned that Lavicious has been very sick and I have been trying my best to find care for her while the veterinary clinics have been overwhelmed due to covid. I ended up having to pay extra for emergency services to be able to identify what was wrong with her. After getting the emergency ultrasound we decided not to put her through a painful and risky surgery and instead keep her final comfortable in her final days. We will be euthanizing her at home tomorrow.
While I was sad to lose both of my jobs at the beginning of the pandemic, I am thankful I got to spend these last 8 months with her at home instead of traveling and having to stay in hotel rooms for work like I was supposed to. I was hoping to spend several more years with Lavicious but at the age of 14 I believe she's had a pretty good life. About 9 years ago she was a stray that wandered into our apartment and I never met a cat was so affectionate and cuddly. Pretty much whenever I've been at home she's either sitting on my lap or laying next to me in bed. She came into my life when during a really difficult couple of years of my life, when I first started my transition. Whenever I would have intense feelings of gender dysphoria and felt I was too disgusting to be worthy of love, Lavicious had a way of putting her paw on my chest and reminding me that those feelings aren't true. I'm not looking forward to spending the rest of the pandemic without her, but I am so thankful to have had her watch over me for so long and will miss her very much.
The funds raised will be used to pay back the $3600 vet bills and the remaining if raised will go towards maintaining my mental health, mostly likely in the form of ordering meals for myself.
