Hello, I’m Amy Loughrey, Aunt to a very special lady named Jade Praefke.   A little bit about Jade's life is detailed below.   Her Uncle Rick Loughrey and I are trying to raise money to make it possible for Jade to live independently for the rest of her life.    For every dollar donated to Jade her uncle Rick and I will match that amount.  We are passionate about helping Jade become independent and being able to live a full life.   We wish we could afford to do this all on our own, but we cannot and are in need of help to accomplish this.

 

Jade is the child of Cheryl Loughrey, who passed away suddenly three years ago. Jade’s father is also deceased. She has a younger sister, Kyra, two younger brothers Shane and Jeff Hunter, and an older sister Heather. She was born in November 1986, in Niagara Falls, New York and resided there most of her life before moving here to Florida a few years ago.

 

Jade was born intellectually disabled, attended high school and graduated with a special diploma. While Jade is currently 35 years old, she has the mentality of only an 11 year old and will never progress beyond that. She is working on becoming independent.   Jade just started her first job at the end of December 2021.   She is so excited to be earning her own money for the first time in her life and being able to help her sister and brother that she currently resides with, with the bills.   She attends LARC in Fort Myers, three days a week, which she enjoys very much and works with other disabled individuals. Jade is an avid Buffalo Bills fan and doesn’t miss a game on TV or the radio. One of her fondest memories is of meeting Jim Kelly, past quarterback for the Bills, a number of years ago when she was at Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York for an operation. Jade is an extremely outgoing woman. She loves to meet people and is a social butterfly at any event. She loves to go places and try new things. She brings a smile to everyone she meets.

 

Jade’s go fund me will be used to cover expenses related to future care and housing for Jade. She has only her social security disability income to cover all costs of living, which falls extremely short of her monthly expenses. Jade is in need of permanent housing with other disabled individuals and a caregiver to supervise and watch over her. She needs to fill in the gap between her social security disability and monthly expenses.   We are hoping to purchase a home for Jade and donate to an organization we are working with in the Fort Myers area that would staff the house with a caregiver for Jade and other intellectually disabled adults.   

 

Please help this lovely lady fulfill her life with all the joy she deserves. Help us keep her safe and sound to live her life in peace in a home with likewise friends. 100% of all money donated will go directly to Jade, and in the event that something were to happen to her, it would be donated to an organization that helps other mentally challenged adults. Money donated will be used to secure housing for her and to pay for any shortcomings in social security disability.
