As many of you know, my girlfriend, Jade, recently attended a detox facility for 21 days and entered into a sober living house on November 6th. On November 7th, while walking to a restaurant in Downtown Santa Ana around 7:30 pm, she was followed, verbally harassed with transphobic slurs, and eventually physically assaulted by a man outside of the restaurant. She in no way instigated a fight, was minding her own business, just walking to get dinner, when a complete stranger decided to commit a hate crime against her, one day after being out of a rehab facility. Luckily, the restaurant staff was there to get the man off of her and help her fight him off, and they eventually locked the restaurant doors and had Downtown security escort the man away, as Jade was too afraid to call the police for help.
As of today, November 9th, she still has a black eye, cuts and bruises on her face, and bloody knuckles. She was also informed today that her cat, Princess, has a buildup of fluid in her uterus and needs life-saving surgery that will cost her $3600 at the least. She has obviously not been able to attend her job for the past month and has had to cover her rent and living expenses as well. Please consider donating to help out a girl who is working tirelessly to better her life for herself, but the world keeps kicking her down. Jade has done a lot for the trans community in SoCal through her band Lacerated, has organized and facilitated countless fundraisers for trans youth, Palestine, and other community organizations, and on top of that is a wonderful, beautiful soul just trying to exist in a world that is actively working against her existence. Thank you in advance for any donations, outreach, and sharing.
