Help Jada's Family Get to Her Graduation

Hi, my name is Jada Reid and I am a graduating Senior at Wesleyan University. I double major in English and African American Studies and I am first generation low income. My family lives in St. Louis, Missouri, and cannot afford to make it to my graduation without support. I am asking for donations (if you can afford it) in order to provide my family with enough money to make it to Connecticut, help me move, and support us financially through this and for a little bit after I graduate.

All throughout my time at Wesleyan I have had to rely on outside scholarships for financial stability, and of course after one graduates, this isn't really possible as much anymore. My mother just lost her job, and is a single mother. My family is really small, really fragmented, and this financial support would really help my mom get back on her feet, help me feel a bit stable after college, and allow my family to come and see me for graduation, as this is a once in a lifetime experience for my family. This will be my sibling, Mia's first time on a plane, and first time seeing the ocean :)

As some of you may know, my cousin passed away last May, and my graduation is on the year anniversary of his death. Some of you may also know, that my Momo was recently kicked out of her home, and had to move (also not having the financial means to do so). I would really like my graduation to go as smoothly as possible, as this will be a moment of continued grieving and transition for me and my loved ones. I am so grateful for any support that you have to offer. I am graduating in honor of my cousin, in honor of my grandma, and in honor of my sibling and my mom. Without them, I would not be who I am, and it is important to me that my family be with me as I cross the stage.

Please do not donate money if you are low income. Please. I am really trying to reach out to our more financially stable peers, and do not want to take money from other first generation low income students.
