Hi! My name is Jacqueline (though most of my online community knows me as Jadah Paradox). I’m reaching out because I am in dire need of a few more car repairs to get the Ford (yes the one that carried a slice of cheese on the back window for months- thanks to some kids taking part in a TikTok challenge) for inspection.
Yesterday, after taking Luke to work I stopped at a gas station on the way home and when I went to restart my car the engine wouldn’t turn over. I contacted my insurance company for a jump and the guy thought something was off since the battery was just a few months older than two years. So he encouraged me to go to Pep Boys (where I got the battery from). Well a $14.99 diagnostic test on the battery/alternator/starter resulted in a $1,343 bill. I applied for a credit card through Pep Boys and got approved for $700 then put the rest of the balance on affirm (with terrible interest). They replaced the battery, alternator (main culprit in battery drain), serpentine belt, and the negative battery cable. Parts were $405.16, labor $709.78. Guess taxes and other small fees made up the remaining $228.
Anyhow, to get the vehicle inspected (it expired in May!) I need additional work- two new tires, a wheel alignment (steering wheel has been off center for a while) and a front axle shaft assembly (current one is leaking?!?!). Those parts & labor are about $660 + $88 for inspection. I’m wallowing in credit card/affirm debt (though I was making progress paying that all down until yesterday hit me with a doozy).
I desperately need help for the remaining repairs- the Ford is the only drivable vehicle I have (Dart is retired in driveway), I use it to get my boys (Connor & Lukas) to and from their jobs, going to the grocery store, and taking Connor to his doctors appointments (his next is 9/1 in Langhorne). I just want to ensure their safety and everyone else on the roads while driving. Any donation amount will be appreciated- I’m asking for $1,000 (to cover what’s needed for inspection and any surprise issues & tax) and if I get more that will simply go towards paying the Pep Boys credit card & Affirm. Thank you for your time reading this, and my gratitude for any help received will be eternal.
