Hi everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, I am Jacquie’s friend, Ashley Kerznowski. I still remember the day our paths first crossed at St. Joes when she was a student of mine. The ice breaker for my class was to tell us an “about me” fact and when it got to her she said, “I have eight kids.” I remember being astonished. And it wasn’t that I was astonished by the number of children, as I too come from a large family (6 kids)… it was that she looked amazing. Confident, Beautiful, full of life, with happiness radiating from her infecting those around her. I knew right then, she was someone I wanted be friends with.

In 2017, she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer stage 1a. She underwent a double mastectomy w/reconstruction and then received Taxol, Adriamycin and Cytoxan. She had a Complete response.

In April 2020, she was experiencing COVID like symptoms so she went to Urgent Care to be tested. Great news! It wasn’t Covid. However, due to the symptoms showing no improvement, the doctor ordered a chest X-ray. That was when she received it, the devastating, life-changing news, her cancer had returned, with mets to lungs and lymph nodes. Stage IV.

Since that diagnosis, she has had numerous different chemo regimens. Abraxane/Tecentriq, Halaven, Trodelvy, Gemzar/Carboplatin, Xeloda, Doxil, Navelbine, and she currently is on Enhertu.

Despite the odds, Jacquie is determined to continue this fight. Unfortunately, she has had a horrible summer, in and out of the hospital. Most recently, she was admitted due to having a mass pushing up against her main bronchus, growing into her airway. Resulting in the need for surgery.

Through ALL of this, she has continued to work as a manager of a busy medical practice, so that she is able to provide for her 8 beautiful children and loving husband (who has a heart condition that prevents him from working - though, I must add that he is super-dad helping with all things on the home-front.)

I am creating this ‘go fund me’ to provide some relief for the family so instead of worrying about costs of everything associated with cancer treatment, she is able to focus on fighting this battle wholeheartedly and creating memories with her children. (Jess (33), Chris (30), Maleigha and Makya (22) Tamia (15), Jamai (13), Julian (12), and Matai (10). )

Jacquie is a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Anyone who is blessed to know her is a better person for it. She is the “go to” person for so many people and is always willing to drop everything to help others. This is our way to remind her that she is not in this fight alone.
