Help Jacqui Get Out Of Her Car
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jaimie and I am trying to help one of my best friends, Jacqui Stephens, out of a very dire situation. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, she is now homeless and living out of her car. The situation is not great, as you could imagine.
She recently moved out of state, from Michigan to Louisana, to be closer to family. Things did start out great. She had a stable job, was making improvements to her mental health, and was able to catch up on her bills. Unfortunately, though, the housing she had fell through and things began to spiral.
She had no warning and had to pack her things in the middle night. No time to find a place. Just one night, she was homeless. And that was when things started to go downhill. She managed to stay at a hotel for week but then had to begin living out of her car. Although she has a stable job, she just doesn't have the money for a deposit, let alone afford a place to rent. And her funds have only continued to dwindle as she tries to survive.
As you could imagine, this whole situation has severely harmed her mental health as well. She does not have a safe space, a home. She does not feel safe. In the homeless shelter, she had to hide herself or be kicked out. She had to deal with others snooping through her stuff. Stealing the limited toilet paper they were provided. Even staying in her car with permission to park in her work's parking lot, she has had to deal with police questioning her in the middle of the night.
This is not okay. It breaks my heart to see her in this situation. Seeing all the progress she's made with her mental health being so completely undone. Being unable to be there for her and help. What I can do is start this GoFundMe and try and raise some money for her. Try and send her the aid she so needs to get back on her feet.
I'm hoping this little bit of money will be enough to get her in a place and out of her car. If we could do that, it would be so amazing. If we could do more, gosh I don't know, it'd be a miracle. But I know even the smallest amount would be a life changer for her.
Please share her story. Even if you don't have the funds yourself to donate, share it. Every little donation, every share, and all the support will mean the world to her and make all the difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
