Help Jacques get his own Diabetic Alert Service Dog

Every step counts! Meet Jacques, a brave soul whose journey began with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes (juvenile diabetes) at just 1 year old. Two weeks after his 2nd birthday, he was also diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, adding another layer of complexity to his young life. But through it all, Jacques has never lost his smile or his zest for life.

Living with diabetes is challenging enough for adults, but for a young child like Jacques, it's especially tough. He faces daily blood sugar checks, insulin injections, and the constant risk of dangerous highs and lows. And with autism, communication can be difficult, making it even harder to manage his condition.

Despite these obstacles, Jacques' love for animals shines bright. He dreams of having a service dog by his side, one trained to detect drops in his blood sugar levels and provide comfort and support during difficult moments. This furry friend could be a lifeline for Jacques and his family, offering peace of mind and a sense of security.

But service dogs don't come cheap. The cost of training and caring for a diabetic alert dog is substantial, around $25,000.
