My cousin, Jacquelyn Marquez, has always dreamed of becoming a mother. She has been on a long and emotional fertility journey since November 2023, filled with hope, heartbreak, and resilience. Now, she faces her biggest challenge yet—fighting rectal cancer while trying to preserve her ability to have children.
Jacquelyn began fertility treatments in late 2023 and underwent her first embryo transfer in June 2024. She was overjoyed when a heartbeat was detected, but devastatingly, she suffered a miscarriage just before 8 weeks. Despite this heartbreaking loss, she remained determined and spent the following months undergoing testing and ovarian cyst removal to prepare for another embryo transfer.
By the end of 2024, she was finally ready to try again, but then came the unexpected news.
On December 20, 2024, Jacquelyn was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Her plans to move forward with another embryo transfer were put on hold as she faced a new battle. On February 4, 2025, she underwent surgery to remove the tumor, but her fight is far from over. With her pathology results now in, she will need to begin chemotherapy soon—a treatment that could severely impact her fertility.
Why We Need Your Help!
Before she starts chemotherapy, Jacquelyn has one last chance to preserve her fertility through an urgent second egg retrieval. This procedure will give her the best chance of having a healthy baby in the future, but fertility treatments are expensive, and cancer treatments only add to the financial strain.
Jacquelyn has shown incredible strength and determination, but she can’t do this alone. Every donation, no matter how small, brings her closer to her dream of becoming a mother. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing her story to help us reach more people.
Your kindness and generosity mean the world to our family. Thank you for being part of Jacquelyn’s journey and helping her hold on to hope for the future.
❤️ Donate, share, and send prayers. Together, we can help Jacquelyn beat cancer and still have the chance to become a mom. ❤️
