I was hired on June 3 as a CNA, which was a fortunate turn after a difficult winter and spring. A back injury left me unemployed and without health insurance, making it impossible to afford basic medical care. Now, before I can start working, I need a pre-employment physical and a PPD tuberculosis test. Without insurance or a primary care physician, covering these costs is a real challenge.

Getting these tests will allow me to begin working at the nursing home, regain stability, and support the residents who need care. This job means so much to me, especially after seeing the dedication of nurses and CNAs who cared for my dad during his final illness. Their compassion inspired me to pursue this path, and I want to give back to the community that helped my family when we needed it most.
