I am a friend and coworker of Emily. She is a pediatric/pediatric ICU nurse and is the main source of income for her family. Emily and Jacob alike are the first ones to give the clothes off their backs to help someone in need. I am wanting to raise money to help lessen the financial burden during this time so Emily can be with Jacob while he focuses on healing. All donations will go directly to Emily to help with medical bills and other unexpected expenses that will occur over the next few months.

Emily’s son, Jacob, was in an accident on November 22nd while on vacation in Florida. Jacob hit his head on the bottom of the ocean while diving into the water from the shore and immediately could not move his arms or legs and was face down in the water. By the saving grace of God, his body somehow flipped over in the ocean, allowing him to be face up, and he was able to yell out to his mom for help while he stayed afloat. Emily jumped in the water to his rescue and with the help of some of his brothers, they pulled him out while Emily held c-spine to protect his neck until paramedics arrived. Jacob was taken to a nearby hospital in Florida where they discovered he has a C5 burst fracture and a vertebral arterial bleed. He is being flown to another hospital in Pensacola Florida where he will undergo surgery. Even if you can’t donate, I ask you to please pray for Jacob. Please pray for guidance of his surgeons and nursing staff. Pray for Emily and Jacob’s siblings to give them comfort and peace of mind.
