Help Jacob's Puppy Moose Fight for his life

Imagine being a tiny little puppy. Fresh to the world and you don’t feel so good. You’re taken in by a lady that takes you for the medical care you need. You’re having diarrhea all over her house and yard, but it’s okay. She’s not mad, she just wants you to feel better. She tells you that you’re safe and that her twin brother will be adopting you. She says how nice he is and that he can’t wait to snuggle with you and take you on hikes. After you get better, you undergo a surgery for a neuter. After healing you’re feeling much better! You’re running and playing and gaining weight!! You go to the vet and they say you’re healthy and super cute! The lady you live with drives you for a super long car ride. Then oh my!! You’re home!! With the twin brother she told you about. His names Jacob but you refer to him as dad. His parents live there too and they LOVE you. You play in their house and take out all the toys they saved you from their dog that died of old age years ago. Life feels complete for everyone.
Then your tummy starts to not feel so good. Your dad is super attentive to you and takes you in as soon as you start having diarrhea and throwing up. The vet gives you meds to feel better. The next morning you hear your dad on the phone with the vet, she says you have coccidia. Your dad gets you more meds. You start eating again and seem to be improving. But the next day you wake up. You look terrible, you’re throwing up and having diarrhea. You have no interest in food or water or playing or even tail wags. Your dad calls the vet again and you’re back to the clinic that day. You’re so lethargic that the vet takes a xray of your stomach while you’re awake. You lay on the vet table in a puddle of hurt, not knowing what’s happening. Why do you keep not feeling good?
The vet says you have to go to the emergency room, they think you may have parvo. You spend 2 hours in the emergency room and yayy!!! No parvo!! But you’re still not doing good. So you say bye to your dad and stay at the hospital that night. The vet and nurses LOVE you, you start to feel better!! You’re eating and drinking and spunky again!!

You get the news. You get to go home to your new dad today!! You’ve only known him a few days, you’ve missed so many good moments due to your sickness but you can’t wait to see him again. 3 hours to go and you go home!! But uh oh you don’t feel so good and you throw up again. The vet says you have to stay, she needs to check your tummy. She puts some goo on you and does an ultrasound. It feels funny but you know they are trying to help you. They notice your large intestine is very angry. They tell your dad there’s nothing else with meds they can do for you, you are on everything that should make you feel better. So what now? When can I go home to my dad? I’ve barely been able to be in my new home I’m so sick. Everyone is so worried about me, the phone keeps ringing with questions on how I am. I promise I’m fighting to come home, I want to be home in my bed with my dad. I know my new family knows I’m trying hard, I just want to feel better and live a happy life. Please help me.

Hi, my name is Emily and I foster animals. My twin brother adopted my foster Moose from
me. It’s his first animal. What should be an exciting and joyous time has taken a turn for the worst.
I got Moose in my care as a foster on April 8th. He had bad diarrhea and was thin, he was not very healthy at all. I took him into the vet and they found out he had hook worms and was out of date for vaccinations. For a week, after he was treated and up to date, he was doing much better! He was neutered and cleared to travel to be adopted.
I traveled from NC to IL on April 18th. Jacob had a great first weekend with Moose. By Sunday night Moose wasn’t feeling too well. By Monday morning he was vomiting and had diarrhea, we took him into the vet by 9:10am. The vet prescribed him sub-q fluids, an anti-nausea vaccine, anti/diarrhea meds and ran a fecal with a coccidia test.
Tuesday the results came back as positive for coccidia and we began treatment for that. Jacob provided around the clock care, letting him out every 1.5 hours when Moose would cry to go potty. Through it all Moose is still trying his hardest with potty training.
Wednesday morning Moose was very lethargic, vomiting and had diarrhea. We went back to the vet where X-rays were done to check for an obstruction. There was no obstruction found and she immediately referred us to hospitalize him at an 24/7 hospital. We were referred to Thrive Pets emergency room. His parvo test came back negative which is great new.
What should had been a joyous time has now been 3 very stressful vet visit is and a very sick puppy. We are already over $4,000 in vet visits and are facing much more for hospitalization. Jacob and our family has worked very hard to help Moose get all the care and love her needs to be healthy again. Moose is currently still at the hospital. He was cleared to go home by 3pm, as he was eating and perky. The only concern was that he still had diarrhea. At noon we received the call that he threw up again, even while being on strong nausea medication. He is now undergoing an ultrasound to check for a foreign body.
I ask that if you can, please help my brother in this time. This is one of the sickest puppies I have ever seen and I foster a lot. We just want to see him get better and live a happy life. He has battling sickness all month with fluctuating weight levels due to the different sickness. If you can, please help us help Moose. If the ultra sound comes back with something he will need surgery. If it doesn’t they will likely send him home with strong meds. While we are all scared for his health, we are hopeful he will be okay.
