Our hearts are shattered by the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved patriarch, Jacob Gaylord, who passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Our family is still in disbelief. Jacob simply hopped on his motorcycle for a quick ride to the Family Dollar—something he often did. He said he’d be right back. But this time, he never came home. He won’t be back to hug his wife, play with his children, laugh with his mother and mother-in-law, or spend time with his newfound family of fellow riders.
We are humbly asking for your support as the Gaylord family begins to navigate this unimaginable grief. In addition to funeral and memorial expenses, Jacob’s wife is now faced with the overwhelming challenge of providing for their four children without his income. Among them are 2-year-old twin boys on the autism spectrum. One of the twins, especially, had an inseparable bond with Jacob—he was his “person.” And now, that little boy is already searching for the father who was his world.
Jacob’s older children are also struggling to comprehend this devastating loss. Just four months ago, they said goodbye to the man they knew as their grandfather. Now, they are forced to face another unbearable grief far too soon.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the kind woman who ran from her home to render aid and to the first responders—many of whom personally knew Jacob—for their care and bravery. This sudden loss has deeply affected our entire township. We ask that you always take a moment to thank our first responders. Their job is never easy, especially in close-knit communities like ours.
Please keep the Gaylord family in your thoughts and prayers. And if you are able, we ask that you find it in your heart to support them during this time of profound sorrow.
