My name is Yarely Garcia, and I am starting a GoFundMe for my grandfather, Jacobo Garcia.

Growing up wasn’t always easy, and I didn’t always have a strong connection with all of my family. But through everything, my maternal grandfather was always there for me. He cared for me the best he could, and he has always meant so much to me.

Over time, his health began to decline. He suffered from clogged arteries in his heart and struggled to breathe properly due to his diabetes. Despite keeping up with his medical appointments and doing everything we could to care for him, his condition worsened as his lungs and kidneys also began to fail.

Three weeks ago, he suffered a heart attack that caused him to lose his life for about 10 minutes. Because the brain can only go 4–6 minutes without oxygen, he experienced severe brain damage, leaving him in critical condition. Although he fought hard and remained stable for two more weeks, he suffered another heart attack on Friday, April 17.

The medical bills have continued to pile up, and we are struggling to keep up with the overwhelming costs. We do not have family we can rely on for financial support, which is why we are reaching out for help.

My grandfather passed away April 24 at 7:10 pm. We were fortunate enough to be there when he passed away and shared his last breath with him. We will still take help to pay the remainder of the medical bills, and funeral home, thank you .
