Hi, I'm Jacob - I'm 16 years old, a senior in high school, and dual-enrolled in college. This summer, I have an incredible opportunity to study abroad in Tokyo, Japan!

Despite having Tourette's and ADHD, which can frequently make it challenging for me to stay on task and focused in school, I have a 4.36 GPA and will graduate with my AA at 17 years old. I'm also part of the National Honor Society and lead my own Rocket League team.

In addition to working hard on my education, I have volunteered more than 150 community service hours and worked part-time for a grocery chain to save up.

It has been a dream of mine to travel to Japan and I'm thrilled at the chance of going there this summer for Language and Culture studies. I have officially been accepted for the CIEE program, but the cost is $8000 + airfare ($2369.41).

Studying in Tokyo allows me to immerse myself in a completely new culture, continue learning the language, and expand my perspective in new ways I never could in a classroom. This experience will help me grow academically and personally.
