Help Jacob Study Abroad in Belfast, Northern Ireland

Hello! My name is Jacob Crutchfield-Jones, a student at UMass Lowell . I'm reaching out because this summer I’ve been accepted into an immersive three-week study abroad program in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This is a unique opportunity that will expand my education and help shape my future.

Why Belfast? Why This Program?

This program is hosted at Queen’s University Belfast, where I’ll be immersed in Northern Irish contemporary literature, meet local senior leaders from across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors in N. Ireland; gaining insights into their leadership journeys, challenges, and opportunities along the way. Additionally, I will explore the vibrant city of Belfast with fellow UMass Lowell students. Beyond the classroom, I’ll gain firsthand insight into the region’s unique history, culture, and post-conflict society, while participating in excursions and student discussions that will broaden my perspective and deepen my understanding of the global leadership and the world.

What This Means to Me

I believe that experiencing life in another country, learning from experts, connecting with local communities, and navigating new environments will help me become a more informed leader and engaged global citizen. This trip is more than just a class; it’s an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, gain new skills, and bring back fresh perspectives to my family, friends, and community.
