Help Jacob Stand Strong Again: Hip Replacement Surgery Fund
Hi, I’m Jacob.
On May 2nd, I’m scheduled for a major left hip replacement — a surgery that’s critical not just for relieving pain, but critical to staying in my profession; one that requires a large amount of mental & physical ability.
I’m working with my healthcare team to understand a disease called Multifocal Osteonecrosis, which is slowly killing the bone tissue in my major joints. Where it’s already showing signs of impacting my upper & lower spine, hips, knees, shoulders, and feet. Sitting, standing, walking, driving, every basic movement has turned into a battle with my joints. Without this surgery, my ability to walk — and work — will continue to vanish along with my quality of life.
What You Need to Know
Last summer, life threw me a knockout punch.
I ruptured my Achilles tendon, needed a full reconstruction surgery, and then developed a severe infection that almost cost me my foot.
In just over a year, those surgeries, hospital stays, medications, and rehab crushed me with a medical debt of over $42,000. I paid it off by wiping out the rest of my retirement and my savings account.
I fought through it. I healed. I stayed on my feet.
But the truth is: I’m financially drained.
Now, I’m heading into another major surgery with nothing left to fall back on — just grit, my Irish stubbornness, and the hope that people will step in to help.
Where Your Support Will Go
The full cost of surgery, hospital care, therapy, and equipment is expected to run between $40,000 and $80,000.
On top of that, I’ll be missing at least a month of normal income during recovery — just when bills will be piling up.
Your donation will help cover:
The hip replacement surgery
Hospitalization and post-op care
Physical therapy and rehab
Medical equipment (walker, cane, etc.)
Basic living costs while I’m out of work
Every dollar brings me closer to healing — and standing strong again.
How You Can Help
Donate if you’re able. Every bit helps more than you know.
Share this campaign with friends, family, and anyone who might want to support.
Send encouragement — it matters more than you think when you're climbing out of a hole.
I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to stay on my feet.
Now I’m asking for a hand — not because I gave up, but because I refuse to.
Thank you for believing in my fight.
