My name is Jacob, and I’m reaching out for help after a recent medical emergency turned my life upside down. I was rushed to the ICU at St. Cloud Hospital after a severe infection led to diabetic ketoacidosis. My blood sugar was dangerously high, and I was found unconscious by a friend, who immediately called for help. Emergency personnel from the Melrose Police, Stearns County Sheriff's Office, and the Melrose Ambulance responded quickly, and I was airlifted to the hospital. I spent four days in intensive care, and the experience was both frightening and overwhelming.

Now, I’m facing a mountain of medical bills from the hospital stay, helicopter transport, and ongoing follow-up care. Even though I’m working full time, my current salary isn’t enough to cover these unexpected expenses on top of my regular living costs. The stress and worry from this situation have taken a toll on my mental and physical health, making it even harder to recover and move forward. Currently the remaining emergency services/ICU bills stand at over $10,000, with the cost of follow up care and appointments ever adding up and mounting.
