Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

I’m reaching out for support on behalf of my incredible boyfriend, Jacob Martinez, who has been hit hard by the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. His home in South Tampa, Florida, has been completely flooded, leaving it unlivable for the foreseeable future.

The damage is overwhelming. The water has destroyed most of his belongings, and the repairs will be extensive and costly. Unfortunately, while he waits for the long insurance process to unfold, he’s faced with significant upfront expenses like paying for high insurance deductibles and continuing to cover the mortgage on a house he can no longer live in.

As anyone who has been through a natural disaster knows, the emotional and financial toll can be crushing. Jacob is a proud, hardworking person who would never ask for help unless it was truly needed, but in this situation, we find ourselves reaching out to our community for support.

• Covering immediate repairs needed to make the home livable again
