My name is Jacob, and I’m a single dad doing my best to care for my three kids. Last year, I became their full-time caregiver, and since then, it’s been just me working, going to church, and trying to keep our little family together. My car was old and had a lot of miles, but it was my only way to get to work, which is 25 minutes from home. I work on cars for a living, repairing wrecked ones, but since Thanksgiving, work has been really slow. I’ve been getting by with borrowed money, hoping things would turn around.

Just as work started to pick up again, my car’s engine blew. Now, I can’t get to work, and I’m struggling to pay rent and keep up with bills. It feels like as soon as I started going to church and trying to do better for my family, everything started going downhill. But I’m staying strong in my faith and believe that God will send people to help us through this low point. I’m scared and nervous, but I know I have to keep going for my kids.
