Hello! This is Jacob Anderson, Percussionist and Music Educator. I could really use your help!

I've been working hard to earn scholarships and grants, as well as waiting tables, all in an effort to earn my degree debt-free. And now I have a unique musical opportunity coming up this summer that will enhance my development as a musician and as a person. As a self-sustaining student, shouldering the costs of the event and airfare all on top of tuition and living costs is a pretty big hill to climb. So, I thought I'd invite anyone interested to contribute to helping me invest in my future career. Thanks for considering it!

The opportunity I am fortunate to be attending is with the TAPS LA Music Festival. Through the audition process, I was accepted as 1 of only 20 percussion fellows for the TAPS LA Music Festival 2026 from June 13th to June 28th! This event, hosted by former Principal Percussionist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Ted Atkatz, features percussionists engaging in chamber music, mock auditions, private lessons, and a group performance of Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich in Long Beach, California. There are many guest faculty and artists, namely the Quey Percussion Duo, comprised of Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious, who are faculty of the University of Delaware (coincidentally, one of the top graduate schools that I will be auditioning for next Fall/Winter).

The opportunity to participate in this event is a great privilege, and I am excited to take my experiences with me into Graduate Percussion studies, and into my future career as a musician and educator. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
