Help Jacob and Cassidy During Tough Times

Hello, my name is Beth Piper and I’m trying to raise funds for my son Jacob and his wife Cassidy.

Jacob was diagnosed with Crohns Disease back in March of 2024. Since then he has been in and out of the ER with severe vomiting and nausea which we thought were flare ups from the Crohns. This has made him loose work and hours at work. No one in Altoona could figure out what was wrong. We finally took Jacob to Pittsburgh where the GI doctor found that Jacob has a stricture in his intestines from the Crohns. When this stricture is inflamed, he cannot pass food which makes him vomit, nauseated and very weak. Jacob cannot keep whole foods down at some points. The stricture is getting bigger and they are doing surgery on Friday October 4, 2024 to remove 6-10” of his intestines and the stricture. The surgery will take about 3 hours and we are hoping that Jacob will feel back to normal after the surgery is done.

I am trying to raise funds for Jacob and Cassidy because Jacob will be off work for 8 weeks or more. Jacob applied for short term disability but because Crohns is pre existing, they will not cover anything Crohns related until after 1 year.

We are trying to raise money to help them with their bills while Jacob is off work. We would appreciate any help. If you can’t give prayers are awesome as well.
