Help Jaclyn and Limited Edition Reach the 2025 USEF Developing Grand Prix National Championships — One Step Closer to the Dream of Team USA
My lifelong dream has always been to represent Team USA on a horse I’ve trained from the ground up. This journey has been built through years of passion, sacrifice, and tireless work — and now, thanks to my incredible partner Limited Edition (“Ellie”), that dream feels closer than ever. I have been lucky enough to have trained Ellie from the time she was an unruly 3 year old into a beautiful Grand Prix horse at just 9 years old.
I am proud and humbled to share that Ellie and I have officially qualified for the 2025 USEF Developing Grand Prix National Championships in Chicago. Even more exciting — we are heading into this championship ranked in the Top 5 in the country.
What makes this journey truly special is how it all came together. In early June, I was taking a lesson with Olympic judge and coach Anne Gribbons, telling her my plan to aim for this championship next year. After watching us work, she looked at me and said words that changed everything: “Why wait? You two are ready now.”
From that moment, everything shifted. My long time coach Volker Brommann and I talked things over and set a plan into action. As Volker always says “you never know what tomorrow will bring you have to chase after your dreams and go for every opportunity you can now!” We quickly stepped up to the Intermediate II level, and in just a few short weeks, we traveled to three qualifying shows. In Ellie’s very first time performing the difficult Intermediate II test, she broke a 70% — an incredible milestone for any horse, but especially for one I’ve trained myself from the ground up. She is one of only 3 horses qualified for this championship to have broken the 70% barrier.
But qualifying is only part of the journey. Traveling from California to Chicago and competing at this level is an enormous financial commitment. Unlike many riders, I do not have wealthy sponsors supporting my career. I am the full owner of my horse, the trainer, the caretaker, and the sole financial provider for this dream. Every lesson, every show, every vet bill and bag of grain is paid for through my hard work as a professional trainer. Since we were not planning on trying to qualify for the national championships this year it is not really in the budget.
We are working to raise $20,000 to help cover the essential costs of this championship, including:
• Cross-country horse transport and return (flight for Ellie from Oakland to Chicago $5700 each way)
• Championship entry fees and stabling ($2000)
• Training and coaching expenses during the event ($2000).
• Travel and lodging for myself and team ($3000)
• Veterinary, farrier, and other critical horse care during the trip ($2000)
Ellie and I represent what is possible when you lead with heart, grit, and determination. This is not a journey backed by big sponsors or deep pockets — it’s powered by a belief that if you work hard enough, you can build your dreams from the ground up. It is a dream being chased by a little girl who loves her horses more than anything and wants to show the world that if there is a will there is a way to make your dreams a reality.
Every single contribution helps bring us one step closer to the international stage. Whether you are able to donate, share our story, or cheer us on from afar, please know your support means the world to me.
Thank you for helping us chase this dream.
With gratitude,
Jaclyn & Limited Edition (“Ellie”)
