My son Jackson is in 8th grade and has been given an incredible opportunity to go on a school field trip to Washington, D.C., New York, and Boston (we live in California). This trip includes historic places like the Statue of Liberty, the U.S. Capitol, national memorials, museums, and more- many of the places he has only ever learned about in textbooks.
This truly feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, not just for him, but for me as his parent. Being able to experience this with him during such an important year of his life would mean everything to us.
Unfortunately, earlier this year Jackson broke his arm, and the hospital bills were far higher than we expected. Those unexpected medical expenses have made it extremely difficult to save for this trip. The total cost is over $8,000, which covers travel, lodging, meals, and activities for both myself and my son.
I am currently working three jobs and doing everything I can to make this happen, but despite my best efforts, it still isn’t enough on my own. Asking for help is not easy, but I don’t want Jackson to miss out on this opportunity because of circumstances beyond our control.
Any donation, no matter the amount, helps bring us closer to making this trip possible. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our fundraiser also means so much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story, for your kindness, and for any support you are able to give. We are incredibly grateful.
