Jacquelyn "Jackie" Gboyer, was born in the warmth of Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 16, 1992, and departed from us on January 10, 2025, in Odenton, Maryland. At 32, she had built a life marked by connection, laughter, and unwavering joy.

Jackie was a rare spirit, one whose presence pulled the weight of this world into something lighter, something more alive. She stood as a testament to the power of authentic kindness. Her gentle strength and warmth had the power to lift those around her, and she offered love without expecting anything in return.

Her ability to see people in their fullness coupled with her extraordinary capacity for acceptance, made everyone around her feel welcome. She made a point to include everyone, ensuring no one felt like an outsider. She was the connective thread in our tapestry of friendship, weaving moments that held us all together.

Jackie's laughter was a gift, infusing joy into our lives. Amid her illness, Jackie chose resilience, bringing humor and strength to spaces that might have otherwise been filled with sorrow. She laughed through pain, a vibrant spirit cutting through the heaviness, never wishing to burden those she loved with the weight of her struggles. She held onto joy, safeguarding it amidst her struggles, never allowing it to be eclipsed by pain. She believed in celebrating life, casting a light that illuminated the lives of those around her. Jackie faced life's challenges with a determination that inspired those around her.

Her creative pursuits—crafting Lego structures, puzzles, and piecing together model houses, reflected her patient and thoughtful nature. Each project was an expression of her personality and a reminder of the beauty in the small moments of life.

Jackie thrived on the energy of EDM and K-Pop, music that helped her forge deep connections with friends. The rave scene was not just a pastime; it embodied her commitment to Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.

Jackie's earthly journey, though seemingly brief, leaves an indelible mark. She is survived by her mother, Josephine; her brothers, Teddy, Chris, John, and Michael; and her sisters, V'Sheta and Amira. In the hearts she touched, through the love and creativity she shared, Jackie represented love in action, reminding us all of the beauty found in shared experiences. Her love was palpable, underscored by her kindness, support, and generosity.
