On Saturday morning, August 31st, Jackie Whitford died in a plane crash in Portland, Oregon. During a test flight it seems that there were mechanical issues, with the pilot inside and her as the passenger. One thing that brings our family some solace is that she died doing what she loved.

Jackie was an amazing pilot and flying was the love of her life, next to her family. She was also a very caring mother, grandmother, friend, etc - intelligent, witty, and sharp.

Her passing is very unexpected and difficult for our family right now in many ways. We want to have a memorial that she deserves, including cremation and her half of bills that she shared with her disabled daughter. The money will go to her daughter, Michelle Raynes . We aren’t sure of the memorial date yet. That info will be shared as soon as we set that up.
