Introduction
Hello, my name is Mary Sue Bennett, though many know me as Mary Sue. I'm a retired 67-year-old citizen and an active member of Springhouse church in Smyrna, TN. I have a sister named Jackie Bennett, who is 61 years old. Jackie is the closet family member I have, and I love her dearly.
Unfortunately, Jackie’s health has been rapidly declining. She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver and had to undergo emergency back surgery due to compressed spinal discs. On top of that, she has now received the devastating news that she has lung cancer. We’re still waiting to learn more about the stage and treatment plan.
As you can imagine, this has been heartbreaking for our family. Jackie has asked for only two things, and as her loving sister, I want more than anything to make them come true.
Jackies’ wishes
Jackie asked for our father. I wanted so badly to make that happen for her but that wasn’t possible. While I couldn’t do exactly that, I was able to get us a ride to visit his grave site. It was a meaningful and heartfelt day that we will both cherish forever.
Jackies second wish is to visit Gatlinburg, TN. Although we’ve lived in southern Tennessee all our lives, Jackie has never had the chance to see the beauty of Gatlinburg in person.
If I had the means, I would make this happen myself. I’ve had assistants of my own for years and this is something I can’t do alone. Jackie has been out of work since March and is unable to return, which has made this event more difficult financially.
So, I’m reaching out to you all with this humble request: If you feel moved to help, any support toward making Jackie’s final wish come true would mean the world to both of us.
