Help Jackie Stout Beat Brain Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Jill McKay and I am Jackie's sister. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Jackie and her family to help her in her fight against brain cancer. Here is a note from her daughter, Jena, about Jackie's journey so far:
In late September 2024, after a routine scan for a sinus infection, my mom, Jackie Stout, got a call from the doctor to go to the emergency room immediately. She had an unexplained mass on her brain. Within a week, a biopsy revealed that the tumor was a grade 4 glioblastoma, the most aggressive and relentless of brain cancers. In an instant, our lives were changed forever.
But like most things in life – my mother was “a-typical” … go figure! She was asymptomatic, it was small – about the size of a grape, and in an operable area. Determined to be a rare glioblastoma success story, we started fighting like hell. First, an extremely successful resection, followed by six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. She still has a long road to recovery, and another six months of chemotherapy, but the good news is… it's working!
My mom has remained herself through the whole process, funny, full of life and determined to beat this. She’s asked for only one thing through this whole ordeal, more TIME. I believe we can give that to her. She unfortunately is unable to work through treatment, and with medical bills and living expenses piling up, we would love to be able to provide her with some financial relief through the end of her treatment. Any little bit would help! Let’s kick some cancer ass!!
