Dear Family and Friends,

I am setting up this GoFundMe account for my cousin Jackie Sanchez, her husband Eddie and their three daughters, Mia, Leila and Katalina.

 

Jackie was due to deliver her third daughter in early March. Unfortunately, in mid January, Jackie woke up one morning and started experiencing heavy bleeding, and had to be rushed to the hospital. She was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and high blood pressure. As a result of her high blood pressure, she had to deliver her baby 7 weeks early. Katalina Francesca Sanchez was born on January 17, 2022, weighing 4lbs, 2oz. Katalina was immediately admitted to the NICU for observation, and was discharged on February 4. She is healthy and doing great. She has been a fighter since day 1 and has reached so many milestones with no issues. Sadly, Jackie’s high blood pressure was not controlled with the medication that she was prescribed. She developed shortness of breath which lead her gasping for air hours at a time.

After almost a month of dealing with breathing issues, and no sign of recovery, she was readmitted to Hoag hospital, on February 12th. After going through a multitude of tests and examinations, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She had fluid in her lungs, along with some kidney failure. On February 18th, Jackie was transferred to UCLA Hospital, and is currently under the care of a team of doctors and nurses.

 

As you can imagine, this journey has been very challenging for Jackie and her family. As a result, of these unexpected events, we would like to help her family with expenses. Any money raised for the family will go towards expenses for their 3 daughters, gas, food and housing for Eddie while Jackie is at UCLA Hospital.
