Help Jackie and Her Family Find Stability After Hurricane Milton
My name is Carrie, and I am Jackie’s manager at Pinellas County Government, located in Pinellas County, Florida. Jackie, a dedicated county employee and single mother of three, was serving the public in a storm shelter during Hurricane Milton. While she was helping others, her own family faced a devastating situation. A large tree fell through the living room of her home, where her mother and children were sheltering during the storm.
Jackie and her family are now displaced, waiting for an insurance adjuster’s assessment and for repairs to begin. In the meantime, they are dealing with high out-of-pocket expenses, including tree removal, hotel stays, temporary housing, and food—expenses that may not be fully covered by insurance or FEMA.
My goal is to help Jackie, and her family secure the funds they need to manage these costs. Jackie was there for our community when it needed her most, and now it's our turn to help her. Any contribution toward helping them cover these immediate expenses would make a tremendous difference in stabilizing their situation.
