I SURE CAN USE YOUR HELP 
Hello everyone this is Jacquelyn (Jackie) Burns, RN. As some of you know, I am thriving with metastatic breast cancer. Those ugly cancer lesions have attached themselves to numerous areas of my skeletal system. The lesions and daily oral chemotherapy medications I take to keep this disease at bay cause excruciating pain. Epic pain from deterioration to these areas, advanced stage hand and foot peripheral neuropathy and severe arthritis limit my mobility and restful sleep. In my conventional bed, I can only sleep/rest on my back and it has become so difficult for me to get in/out of bed on my own. A low immune system, fatigue, nausea, weakness, dyspnea, and hot flashes are just a few side effects of my new normal. Metastatic breast cancer… it appears this road to recovery is never over, even though I "ranged the bell" in 2018.
I can greatly benefit from a specialty bed (not covered by Medicare). That’s where I can use your help. You see, MBC and its treatments are associated with many out-of-pocket costs for medications and medical care. Lost income due to my need to retire early has resulted in a financial strain, various debt, and depletion of our savings. We are now living on a limited, fixed income.
It's very humbling to go from financial independence and the giver of care (Registered Nurse and EMR teaching for 25 years) to being the one that needs assistance.
