My name is Lien and I am raising funds for my big brother Jackie. To start off, my brother will be needing a lung transplant & aftercare. They will not move forward until we have the funds to relocate to Chapel Hill, NC, and are able to afford his medication and aftercare. Unfortunately, his little family isn't in the best place, like most of us, to be able to afford all these costs. I'm going to try to explain the situation the best I can.

The last few months have been a whirlwind for our family and his little family at home. He got sick last August (shortness of breath, throwing up constantly) and went to the ER. They brushed him off time and time again. It finally got to the point where they decided to admit him and deemed it pneumonia in October. After about a month, even though he had not gotten any better, they released him on an oxygen tank at 7 liters. After being at home for a week, they noticed he was only getting worse. His O2 levels dropped dangerously low, which could have caused a cardiac arrest. Thankfully, they were able to get to the hospital in time. Baptist Hospital stepped in and had him transferred, and that's when we were told he was misdiagnosed by the previous hospital. Since it had gone on for so long untreated, they needed to see what steps they could take next because he was already in worse shape then he should've been. After a 13-day stay at Baptist, they airlifted him to Chapel Hill, where he is now in the ICU awaiting a lung transplant. They tried various treatments, but none have worked. It's been so hard on our family and his little family. He has not seen his daughter since he was admitted to the ICU in December. We are hoping to raise enough money so that they will go ahead with his transplant and we can get his little family back together.

We greatly appreciate everyone taking the time to learn Jackie's story ❤️ We wouldn't ask for the help if we didn't absolutely need it. We are trying to do everything we can to bring Jackie home. We all love and miss him, especially Sofia. And he really needs this transplant soon to be able to come home to his baby girl and watch her grow up.
