Hello all,
On June 9th, 2023 my family's world changed, My Mooma, Jackie Foley was diagnosed with the terrifying C word..... Cancer. To be more specific she was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Cancer, Anus.
As many of you know the cost of cancer is astronomical, not just the treatment of cancer, but the after care of cancer. Over the last year my Mooma has survived 24 hour chemo treatment for five days straight, weeks of radiation. ( The radiation alone was $75.00 per day Co-pay). She had two rounds of this treatment to fight her Cancer. As hard as she tried she was unable to continue working during this treatment.
On top of fighting the cancer she spent numerous times in the hospital with severe infections. These caused her to be dehydrated and very low on important nutrients. To combat this she had to have infusions of liquids many times. Finally on November 18th, 2023 she had Ostomy surgery.
With all this said as family we are unbelievably grateful to say she is cancer free at this time! This however does not mean the cost of this frightening disease has stopped. She had to have in-home care from November 2023 to January 2024. She has to have PET scans every 3 months, many biopsies and need for life long medical supplies.
As a family we had decided to be more open about what this last year has been like, the hardest year most of us have had in our lives. As many of you know my Mooma, Jackie is a very private and modest lady. But with the bills getting in the way of the life she fought so hard to live we thought it was time to ask for help. We know it won't cover all the expense that she will continue to have but it makes the hill of bills more manageable.
Every dollar is a blessing and we are so thankful for the village she has surrounding her. You do not know how much you all gave her the strength to continue on, not just physically but mentally as well. Especially her Elk River Menards Family!
We love you all and even if you can't donate a share will help.
Love, Regina her little one.
