I am starting this fundraiser to help my neighbor, Jackie Wilson of Chesapeake, Virginia, fight Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Last year Jackie was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She underwent a mastectomy as well as other surgeries to help eradicate the cancer. She received vigorous Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments as well. This past April, Jackie and her family received great news that her recent MRI and CT Scan showed no evidence of cancer. But sadly, since August Jackie wasn't feeling very well. She was seen by her oncologist and after many tests, she received the news that the cancer has spread to the cerebellum section of her brain which controls the body's balance as well as many other important functions. Cancer has also been detected in her Cerebral Spinal Fluid surrounding her brain. This specific type of cancer is called Leptomeningeal cancer. Due to its location, surgery is not an option.Jackie has moved her treatment and management of her medical condition to the great medical team at Duke Hospital in North Carolina. She will be undergoing intense Chemotherapy that is injected into her Cerebral Spinal Fluid in addition to many other treatments.
The funds raised by this gofundme campaign will be needed very soon. Jackie and her husband, Jereme will need to travel back and forth to North Carolina for the foreseeable future. There will be a lengthy list of expenses with travel plus overnight stays at local hotels. Unfortunately, Jackie and Jereme are already short with sick time / vacation time from both of their jobs. They have already lost wages due to missed overtime opportunities. They are already financially stretched thin and I do not want them to worry about the extra expenses and the bills that have been piling up. I want them to concentrate on obtaining the best care for Jackie.
Jackie is a sixth grade math teacher in the Virginia Beach public school system. She has been a teacher for twenty years. Jereme, her husband, is an electrician at Norfolk Naval Base. He helps keep our U.S. Navy mission ready by making sure the ships and the base have power. Their 17 year old son Tyler is an avid pitcher in baseball. Their 12 year old daughter Morgan competes in dance.
I plea for your contribution because Jackie and Jereme Wilson are both some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are vey well known in the Chesapeake and Virginia Beach area. They love their friends and family as well as their community. They are very hardworking and humble people who would help anyone else out in need. Please provide any financial support you can spare so that they can concentrate on fighting cancer.
Thank you for your consideration,
Very Respectfully,
Robert Roadfuss
