I am fundraising for my brave boy Jack.

Jack is my world, and he is a miracle. Nine days ago, Jack was the victim of a heartless hit-and-run. Despite suffering a devastating spinal injury that left his back legs useless, his spirit didn't break. He literally crawled his way back home to me, dragging his body until he reached safety. I rushed him to my local vet, where they immediately saw the severity of his injuries. They stabilised him and acted quickly to get him to the specialist orthopedic team at Langford vetinary hospital. It was there that we discovered a spinal break at the L7-S1 junction. He underwent major emergency surgery to stabilise his spine with a 1.5mm titanium screw and 2 metal plates so secure his pelvis.

The Reality: The surgery was a success, but the recovery is a mountain to climb. Because of the trauma to his nerves, Jack currently cannot go to the toilet on his own. We are now in a critical window, waiting for his nerves to "wake up" so he can regain control and toilet again unaided.

The Financial Burden: I have done everything in my power to save him. The specialist surgery cost £6,500. My pet insurance maxed out at £3,000, and I have personally covered every penny since to ensure he didn't lose his chance. On top of the initial surgery, Jack requires ongoing veterinary admissions for bladder management, which cost £182 per night.I have put everything I have into saving Jack, but I am now at my absolute limit.
