Help Jack Run Again

Recently, my dog Jack injured his right back leg and a subsequent visit with a veterinarian revealed that he ruptured the cruciate ligament in his knee.

The injury is sadly common in large athletic breeds like Jack, caused by a sudden twisting injury to the knee joint. Similar to ACL injuries in humans, it causes acute pain and if left untreated, it causes arthritic disease and lameness.

Jack is scheduled to undergo surgery for Intracapsular Repair and will need 3-4 months of confinement following. He will also need another surgery on his other knee to prevent future injury, which means yet another period of confinement.

Jack is a beautiful, loving rescue dog who makes friends with everyone he meets. It breaks my heart to see my otherwise healthy, active boy limping around in pain. I am doing my best to pay for the surgery myself by diligently navigating the gig economy, but Jack and I need all the help we can get.
