My name is Jack Smolen, and I am a freshman at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. I am a recovering alcoholic and addict, and I am proud to say I have been sober for 18 months. My journey has not been easy, but I am determined to build a better future for myself by following my passion for saltwater fly fishing.

I am working hard to finish my education, but I need help to take the next step. My dream is to become a saltwater fly fishing guide during the summers, which will allow me to generate enough income to pay for my schooling. To do this, I need a high-quality used skiff. Unfortunately, I am not old enough to take out a loan, and I have no credit history. I was raised to believe that you have to work for everything you get in life, and I am not looking for handouts—just an opportunity to prove myself.

Your support will help me purchase the boat I need to start guiding and build a future doing what I love. I am deeply grateful for your consideration and for believing in my dream. Thank you for helping me take this next step in my journey.
