Help Jack beat Ewing's Sarcoma
Donation protected
Our friend and fellow Dirt Biker has been diagnosed with a very serious illness and he is only 18 years old. We have known Jack, Melissa, Verne and the girls for over 15 years. Jack has been riding with Billy and Bill and Melissa and I have coached cheer together when the kids were so young. Jack is the greatest kid, with his whole life in front of him. We need your help to give him the best Medical Care and for him to rest easy and beat this Cancer.
This is a message from Jack's mom Melissa:
Jack is 18 and was diagnosed in January with Ewing’s sarcoma(bone cancer)in his left femur.
Jack was snowboarding and landed short on a jump taking the impact on his legs. He wasn’t sore until the next day and we took him to the ER because he was in horrible pain. We thought he broke something.
There was no break, so the next day he saw an orthopedic who ran an MRI and said "he saw something". We weren't sure what that mean, but he sent us to Northwestern in Chicago to a specialist.
The Specialist read the MRI and sent Jack for a bone biopsy and that came back as a "blue tumor"... cancer.
Cancer, not a word you want to hear especially when it’s your child!
His treatments are aggressive. Jack has 5 different Chemo’s going every week with one week having Chemo all 5 days.
He will be in treatment for 9 months! The side affects are very hard and the pain in his bones are the worst of all!
He is disappointed that he won’t be able to ride his dirt bike, or go wake boarding this summer two things he loves doing!
Jack is very active played baseball from the age of 4 till his sophomore year in high school! He loves playing his guitar and is now teaching himself the keyboard which helps pass the time. Jack is being treated by a team of doctors at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.
Jack will need surgery and more treatments after the surgery. He has a long road in front of him, but with your help we know he will beat this!

We are taking this a day at a time, one step at a time! We feel so grateful to have so much love and prayers being sent by so many people! Through all of this he still has that great smile! You know that smile!
