Help Jack & Family Through His Cancer Battle
A week before Christmas and three weeks out from his 21st Birthday, my best friend's son Jack has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. His Mum, Eve, will need to resign from her job and put her life on hold to be there for her son, including driving an hour and a half each way to the Alfred Hospital every day for at least the next month, while Jack starts immediate intensive chemotherapy. This means that on top of this devestating turn of events, he will be in there for Christmas, New Year and his 21st Birthday. The chemo will likely continue for at least the next 2 years and, following that, there will be drug trials, a bone marrow transplant and anything else he needs to help him win this fight. As a mother of both Jack and a 12 year old daughter, as well as Stepmum to 2 young boys, Eve already has a lot on her plate trying to work out how she will be able to manage financially with all the extra medical expenses, as well as keeping a roof over her young family's head. Jack and Eve are the most beautiful people, who would do anything to help someone else in need, so we are desperately hoping to raise enough money to help ease the financial strain a little.
Of course, I know it is almost Christmas, which makes the whole situation even worse, but anything you can spare is very much appreciated, big or small. Thank you so much in advance x Caroline Crook
