My name is Lani Wilson, I'm fundraising for my two nieces who were severely injured in a devastating crash.
On January 14, 2022 at approximately 6pm near Chapel Hill, Smith County, Clint, Jaci, and Maddie Andrews were involved in a head on collision in Tyler with a truck pulling a large trailer while traveling home from dinner.
The girls’ father, Clint (39), was found DOA. Jaci and Maddie were rushed to different hospitals: Mother Francis Tyler and UT Health Tyler.
Both girls were ejected from the windshield of the vehicle. Jaci (14) hit the other vehicle after being ejected, and was thrown approximately 30 feet. Maddie (13) was also thrown approximately 30 feet after being ejected.
Upon arrival at the hospital, both girls were admitted into the ICU. Jaci sustained broken bones in her back, multiple large lacerations all over her body, severe head trauma and swelling, a bruised spleen, and a level two shear brain injury (rated on a scale of three). She remains in ICU on a ventilator for the foreseeable future. Jaci will need extensive neurological therapy for years to come.
Maddie sustained broken bones in her back, a collapsed lung, a severe concussion, a broken wrist, and her eye is swollen shut. She will need neurological therapy as well. Maddie was released from ICU on January 16 but remains in the hospital.
In addition to their injuries from the accident, they’re both being monitored for pneumonia.
Their mother, Cassie Andrews (39), has been by their side since the accident. With Clint gone, Cassie will bear the brunt of the medical bills for both Jaci and Maddie.
We thank you in advance for any and all contributions.
