Jace is a brave 12-year-old boy who has shown incredible strength and resilience living with a complex heart condition: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Over the years, he has endured more than any child should, including multiple open-heart surgeries. On Tuesday, October 14th, Jace underwent his fourth open-heart surgery.
While the procedure was necessary, Jace has faced a variety of unfortunate setbacks following the surgery. He remains in ICU, intubated, and on ECMO support (a machine helping his heart and lungs rest and recover).
His mom and dad remain by his side, and their constant presence is exactly what Jace needs right now. As they focus every ounce of their strength on being with their son, we want to help lift any burden of the financial stress. This has also been incredibly difficult for Jace’s siblings, Hanna, Ashlyn, and Kole, who deeply miss their brother and parents, adding to the emotional weight of this challenging time as the family is unable to be together.
We’re setting up this GoFundMe to give friends, family, and the wider community a way to support Jace and his family. Jace was the toughest kid I know and he put up the ultimate fight. Unfortunately his body just couldn’t fight anymore and he went to heaven this afternoon. He isn’t in pain anymore, but please pray for us- we don’t know how to go on without him.
