Help Jabari Walk Again

Hello everyone. My name is Lakeisha and I am fundraising for my brother Jabari, who recently had a very freak accident on 3/22/21. We were celebrating my sons 3rd birthday at a trampoline park here in Charlotte, NC. Everybody was jumping around, laughing, and having a good time. That’s until my brother fell down on the trampoline screaming hysterically while noticing that BOTH of his knees were no longer in place; they literally were sitting in the lower part of his thighs. Shortly after, medic arrived to the scene and took him to the Emergency Department. They hoped that Jabari’s knees could be popped back into place; but after X-rays and seeing the doctor, we learned that he had torn both of his patellar tendons; which is needed to basically work the knee. The doctors told us that this is a very serious injury and without surgery he will never walk again. Major pill to swallow and even more devastating when the doctor says surgery is needed within 7-10days and you have no medical insurance and are not financially prepared to cover such costly expenses. 

His surgery alone is $26,000.00 and there are continuous appointments ahead for surgery follow ups and 4-6 months of physical therapy that we will have to cover a portion of cost upfront. 

The amount I am fundraising for is to the cover the down payment to have the surgery, surgery follow up, and medications. 

All I want is for my brother to be able to walk again and live his life to the fullest.
