To All My Amazing Supporters,

This is Baby Ja'Aire and I wanted to give you a little report on the recent events surrounding my health journey. On November 17, 2023, I underwent my life-saving trachea repair surgery, and I'm so happy to share that it was a major success!

The skilled doctors performed the surgery with great expertise, revealing that my entire trachea, once closed, is now open and four times its original size. I successfully came off the Bypass machine without any complications or additional bleeding, leaving my doctors quite pleased with the outcome.

Despite the success, there are potential risks and complications, including the possibility of nerve damage affecting my voice box and the chance of needing a permanent Tracheostomy. Over the next six months, my doctors will closely monitor any signs of nerve damage, though they express optimism that I will be just fine. Please continue to pray for me.

As of now, I find myself in a state of temporary paralysis until November 23, 2023, ensuring the stability of my trachea. Over the next three weeks, the doctors will take me to the operating room weekly to assess the healing process. If all goes well, they plan to initiate the weaning process off the ventilator and increase my feedings, marking the beginning of my journey towards a full recovery.

I must acknowledge the difficulty this time has brought to my parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family, and friends. I am truly grateful to have them by my side, and I thank God for their unwavering support.

I extend my deepest gratitude to all of you who have showered me with prayers, calls, and financial assistance. Although our initial goal has been met, my family has exhausted the funds to cover my medical bills, living expenses, and travel costs. Yet, the financial journey continues, and we are still asking for your financial support if you can give.

I humbly ask for your continued prayers and assistance as I navigate this path to recovery. This “warrior” right here is a fighter…I won’t give up!

Dear Family, Friends and Community,

I'm Ja'Aire, and I want to share my incredible journey with you. I came into this world on August 14, 2023, as the son of Jeffrey Chester, Jr. and Nikesha Luckey, and I'm the third grandson to Jeff and Tonya Chester. I was born at just 25 weeks, weighing a tiny 2 lbs. and 0.5 oz. Right from the start, I faced a rare defect called tracheal stenosis, which narrowed my airway due to cartilage issues.

But let me tell you, I'm a WARRIOR! I've had a few close calls, but God has guided the medical staff's hands and saved me again and again. I'm just a baby, and I already feel the incredible presence of God in my life!

Despite all the obstacles, I've grown, and now I weigh 3 lbs., and 10.2 oz. Here's the amazing part: as soon as I hit 4 lbs, I'm heading to Boston Children's Hospital for a life-saving surgery. That's where I need your help.

During this critical time, my parents, Jeffrey Chester Jr., and Nikesha Luckey, won't be able to work. We're facing some financial struggles, and that's where you come in. We have set a fundraising goal of $10,000 to cover my medical/travel expenses and support my family during this challenging journey.
