Hi! It’s Izzy.

So, most of you know me through my work documenting raids, sending community alerts, and some field journalism across Southern California. What you might not know is that while I’ve been doing this work… I haven’t really had a stable place to live.

I’ve been couch hopping and staying in and out of my parents’ living room for some time, occasionally getting a motel room if I have to, and once in a while sleeping on the train if I couldn’t find a place to sleep. I did all this while editing stories, writing reports, and sending alerts from wherever I can find a quiet corner.

I’ve reached a point where I really do need stability, not luxury, I just need a roof, a desk, and some peace so I can keep showing up for everyone. Every alert, every article, every photo I’ve posted comes from the same mission: keeping our people informed and seen. I want to keep doing that, but it’s been difficult recently and I’ve had several moments recently where I can’t keep up without a place to rest and work from. I’ve focused heavily on this work, I even left school to focus more time on this. Unfortunately, I also lost one of my two jobs a little over a month ago, but as you all know I did get hired recently with some really special folks and decided to focus on this full time. I know the future holds more in store, I just need a little help.

I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help cover:

• A security deposit and first month’s rent

• Basic moving essentials (Mainly a cheap bed.)

• A small safety cushion to stay consistent while I get back on my feet.

If you’ve ever shared my posts, relied on my updates, or even just believed in what I do, this is one way to help me keep going. I believe transparency is immensely important, and I’ll keep everyone updated along the way.
