hello friends, family, and angels of the internet!

i hope this message finds you well on your journey. i come to you with many updates and to ask you humbly for assistance!

in 2021 i recorded my first project, ‘codependent,’ written by myself and my sister eleanor. it was released in 2022! since then, i have written boatloads of songs and shared them in the form of live performances, and a small collection of demos i released in october of 2024 called ‘cornflower blues.’

in my final semester of college i began making strides towards recording a new project. i had spent time communicating with a studio in boston, MA about recording with them, and was close to finalizing my plans to do so, until an irresistible offer crossed my path.

in december of 2024 i applied to a weekly artist showcase in LA called open folk on a whim. open folk is a community that started in argentina and has since branched out to spain, california, and new york. it was created by artists for artists and listeners. in january i received notice that i had been invited to perform.

in february i met fede petro, one of the founders of open folk, and an incredibly talented musician, writer, composer, and producer. i consider myself very lucky to know fede for a number of reasons, he is an amazing friend and a cultivator of genuine community in a space and city which have a tendency to be riddled with a lot of competition and a lack of compassion. fede and i became fast friends and i have been fortunate enough to collaborate with him both live on stage, and in the recording process.

in may, fede reached out to me and told me he had recently connected with ira becker, production assistant at apogee studios in LA and they were going to collaborate on a project together. he told me that he wanted the project to be an EP of my songs. he presented me with a project proposal that showed so much love and care and passion for my songs, it was a no brainer to me that we would work on this project together.

this has, throughout, been a collaborative effort. i could not have gotten this far without all of the incredible work fede has been doing to make this record possible. we are recording four songs with full instrumentation, and i could not be more excited. i am going to record on saturday the 28th of june!

this is where you come in: i am posting this campaign in the hopes of raising funds to help me pay for this project. at present, our budget is looking at around $6,600. this includes paying ira for recording and mixing the record, fede for producing it, the mastering process, as well as paying all of the unbelievably talented musicians who are contributing their artistic expertise to this project what they deserve for their hard work.

making a record is by no means an inexpensive process. any contribution you are able to make would make a huge difference in my ability to fully realize this project. it would mean the world to me to have another opportunity to share my heart with you through this collection of songs. and it would mean even more to me to know that none of this would be possible without your generosity.

thank you for taking the time to read my rambling writing, and your continued support and love. i adore you so very much! i will be sure to keep you in the loop as this project unfolds.

all my love (& then some),
izzy
