Help Izayah's "ZAY'S" Family with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My name is Amanda Garrett Tolbert. I'm a close, long-time family friend of Izayah "Zay" Olgin. On behalf of the family, I've started a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses.
Last Sunday night February 16th, 12-year-old Izayah ("Zay" as we call him) was shot in the head with a gun and left with life-threatening and life-changing injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where emergency surgery was performed to remove a portion of poor Zay's skull to help minimize, relieve, and reduce brain swelling. He is still in the hospital in critical care several hours from home, in Lubbock Texas until further notice. He is going to be OK!! Thank God, but he's going to have a long hard road to recovery. He lives in Big Spring, Texas with his grandmother and sister on a very small fixed income from social security. Lubbock and Big Spring are about an hour and a half away from each other. His grandmother will not have the funds to make the trips back and forth and maintain household bills, much less be able to afford all his upcoming medical bills and even further medical treatment that he'll need in the future. I'm hoping people find it in their hearts to donate whatever they can to help take some of the load off his grandmother. Any and all donations will go directly to the family, as I've been asked to be the treasurer, I will ensure this happens. Thank you very much for your time and concern and all your prayers, please keep those coming! I will keep everyone updated with all new information as it comes in. Thank you again! GOD BLESS!
This is the one and only Go fund me page for Izayah please do not donate to any others.
Update Friday February21st 9am: Zay is still moving in the right direction Doing another cat scan today and if all goes well they may be removing some of the tubes coming from his head. Still no release date in mind, have to wait for the swelling to go down a little more. And then they will have to install a metal plate in his head. And then they can start planning on a release date. Please keep praying and sharing, it all helps, every little share, every single dollar is so very much appreciated! Sandy and Laylay (Zays Grandmother and Sister) wanted to say thank you so much for all your prayers, donations, help and concern. They are very grateful and overwhelmed with the outpouring from the community. Please keep them in your prayers and keep sharing!
