Help Iz Receive Permanent Housing
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Iz! I’m from Oklahoma, I’m a trans black-indigenous person, & I use they/them pronouns. In October of 2020, I had to escape from my abusive mother’s house and since then I’ve been on the verge of homelessness. During this time I was enrolled in college & working on campus so I was approved to live in the dorms during the spring semester.
However, my spring semester was very chaotic due to having undiagnosed c-ptsd at the time, having toxic family members harass me, and being sexually assaulted.
During the last two weeks of college, I was facing homelessness again. My best friend’s parents bought her a house and I informed her about my situation. Thankfully she let me stay there and I have been living there temporarily since May 2021.
I’ve been employed twice since May, having encountered racism, transphobia, and misogyny. As well as overall having employers who’ve deliberately discriminated against me. Since I live in Oklahoma, I have found very limited resources for queer-indigenous two-head folx, like myself. Thus, I’ve been crowdfunding since September and that’s how I’ve been surviving. But I haven’t received consistent donations & financially, I’m in a difficult spot. It’s also been extremely difficult because I don’t have any support from my biological family. I have recently relocated and I’m currently staying in a lgbtq+ shelter.
However, I’m not familiar with the town I’m living in and I’m looking for advocacy related job opportunities, applying for low income housing, and making new connections throughout this personal journey. I need help paying monthly bills, purchasing household essentials, hygienic products, clothes & shoes, bus passes & Uber gift cards. Help me not just survive longer, but live to be a resilient and successful adult.
Thank you so much for reading this far! Please share this link & flyers (added below) on all social media platforms, boost the comments, and most importantly donate to support my journey to adulthood and being able to truly live.
