Hello! My name is Ivy Rose, and I am a queer trans woman who resides in Indianapolis, IN. My passions are in creating visual art, and building community amongst peers to make the Midwest feel more like a place to call home. After 10 years of living my life publicly as a woman, I have the opportunity to get gender affirming top surgery! It feels surreal to think of a day very soon where I won’t feel so disconnected from my physical body. There was a long time when I didn’t think I deserved this, but due to life changes I have made the decision to finally pursue this. A day where dysphoria will not run my life in the debilitating way it has been. This may “just be a surgery” but to me it feels like a new lease on life. My issue is that I am already in the process of rebuilding my life and live paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet. My surgery date is scheduled for February 17th, and I will also be out of work recovering for a month after. This is because I work a physically demanding day job. The funds would go towards making this surgery possible, as well as making sure my necessities of bills, food, etc won’t take a blow due to this forced loss of income. Every little bit helps, and please know how grateful I am for you to donate and or share this with others. Timeline is shorter than I expected so there is an urgency. Thank you so very much!
-Ivy Rose
