Hi friends. My car broke down last month on the freeway, which was a pretty scary experience. Worse, it turned out the engine had failed. This was something I had feared would happen, but it was devastating nonetheless. The cost to fix it is ultimately not worth it, so I'm hoping to purchase a new (used) car so I can continue to navigate the sprawling city I live in and get to all the various gigs that allow me to make money. While I have a bike and LA has some public transportation, friends convinced me that trying to raise money (which I can't do on my own) would be a helpful way to obtain a more consistent means of getting around.

I'm hoping to raise $5000 to allow me to get a used car in decent enough condition that it will last me for years to come. If I'm not able to meet that amount or find a good deal with the money I raise, I will pivot to getting either a scooter or an e-bike, both of which would still allow me to travel more reliably than I can now.
