My name's Sarah (my friends call me Sarjé), and my dad is Iszac. Iszac's a disabled Veteran, who's lived in Kansas since before I was born. His health was pretty good, until fall of 2025, when everything went downhill quickly.
He's spent the past few months in a nursing home, during which time he's lost a lot of his capabilities, becoming effectively quadriplegic. He needs help eating, bathing, and going to the bathroom. During his time in the nursing home, a longtime "friend" took advantage of Iszac's condition, and dad lost ownership of his home.
My mom passed away less than a year ago, and I'm an only child. As such, Iszac is my only immediate family left. I would like him to be moved closer to me.
We've found a nursing home bed for him in Oregon, but the VA is refusing to pay for a medical transport. I have been quoted $15,000 to transport Iszac safely to Oregon with the proper medical care and support.
In addition, dad's Great Pyrenees dog, Finner, needs to be relocated to Oregon. This will cost me about $2500 to rent a vehicle and drive him home.
I've spent over a month in Kansas--advocating for dad's medical needs and appealing to law enforcement and legal aid--trying to recover dad's health and property. But these gears grind slowly. Meanwhile, I am unable to work for my regular income, by which I typically subsist. I want to return to my life, and I want my dad to be a part of that.
Your support will be put towards medical transport for Iszac, and hopefully, a truck rental to return home with Finner.
My dad and I have lost a lot lately. Please help us to stay together and relocate to Oregon safely. We are very grateful for your help.
